Marketplace - Overview

Baxter Community Center’s food and clothing pantry provides emergency food and clothing assistance for the most vulnerable families and individuals in the community.

A budget counseling program is another part of Marketplace. Baxter works with individuals to instruct them in managing their finances to obtain the knowledge and skills necessary to move from times of emergency need to regular employment and planned budgeting.

Baxter has recently been focusing on senior needs in the neighborhood. We have dedicated our Marketplace food pantry on Monday Afternoons and all day on Wednesdays to "Seniors". We have also started an Enhanced Fitness program, in collaboration with Senior Neighbors.

The Marketplace works in collaboration with ACCESS food pantries, Feeding America, AARP, New Focus, and a number of local colleges and universities.
