Marketplace - Tax Preparation
In collaboration with the Kent County Tax Credit Coalition and AARP, Baxter’s Marketplace offers a Free Tax Preparation Program to low-income families and individuals in Kent County. Thousands of volunteer hours make this service possible.
Since the inception of the tax preparation program over 30 years ago, it has grown significantly, from a few hundred tax returns filed annually in its early years to nearly two thousand today. In 2009, the program assisted 1,604 individual with their tax returns. Tax refunds totaled $1.9 million, and clients saved an estimated $175,000 in tax preparation fees.
